CT Scan Today

Today was my much-anticipated CT scan to reassess my liver after starting my latest treatment in December. I wasn't expecting to get the results before Monday or Tuesday, but within an hour of finishing my scan, my oncologist's number showed up on my caller ID. In the past, they usually call with bad news, and the sooner the call, the worse the news. So I answered with trepidation as well as eagerness to know the good or the bad regardless.

I had spent the morning of my scan with a playlist of songs that encourage my faith. And when I arrived at the imaging center, I stepped out of my car to see tiny green shoots poking out of the ground in the flower bed. Hope was in the air. And hope did not disappoint. 

My oncologist was actually calling with GOOD news! While my tumors are still "innumerable," many of them are smaller, indicating they're responding to treatment. We are thrilled! I'll continue on my current treatment for now, hopefully giving us another several months before we have to find another option.
